Michael was born and raised in the Columbus area. He is a proud Buckeye! He graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in 2005, and from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2008. He practiced consumer bankruptcy law for several years with a large local bankruptcy firm. In addition, he has worked for a bankruptcy trustee and spent several years clerking for Bankruptcy Judge Jeffrey Norman in Shreveport, Louisiana and Houston, Texas. Michael is a member of numerous organizations including the Columbus Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Credit Education Coalition, and the NACTT Academy. He has also spoken on bankruptcy issues at various local and national conferences and seminars. While serving as a law clerk, he chaired committees to amend the local bankruptcy rules and to draft and implement a new Chapter 13 form plan.
